The state interferes in the affairs of the Church, which violated church unity, which led to a split in Ukrainian society. This was stated by the “archbishop” of the UOC-KP Andriy Marutsak, the website of the UOC-KP writes.
“Unfortunately, our government officials have not yet understood that the strength of the state and its independence lies in its autocephalous and independent from foreign centers of the Orthodox Church, which is the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
Unfortunately, so far not a single brave, patriotic representative of the authorities, from the President to officials of the Ministries of Justice and Culture, has been found who would resolve the issue of returning the registration of the Kiev Patriarchate. We see indifference on the one hand, and on the other, unwillingness to correct the situation of illegal deregistration of the Kyiv Patriarchate. Thus, the State intervened in the affairs of the Church, thereby disrupting church unity, which led to a split in Ukrainian society. In a war environment, such interventions are unacceptable and are a big mistake that threatens the security of Ukraine and the loss of its independence.
