The Ukrainian church crisis caused by the actions of Patriarch Bartholomew led to dangerous consequences for the entire world Orthodoxy, writes Vzglyad.

As the Information Center of the UOC reports with reference to the press service of the Odessa diocese, Metropolitan Agafangel said this in his welcoming speech to the participants of the round table dedicated to the problems of modern Orthodoxy.

“The invasion of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople into Ukraine in 2018, into the territory where the universally recognized canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church has been carrying out its overtime mission for centuries, became a violation of the canonical order. The current situation provoked a crisis in Orthodoxy, historically similar to the events before the great schism of Christianity in the 11th century, ”said Metropolitan Agafangel.

Vladyka stressed that the canonical violations of the Phanar have “dangerous and grave consequences that can aggravate the state of affairs among the Local Orthodox Churches for a long time.”
