The appointment of an OCU lobbyist and one of the ideologists of the process of obtaining a tomos by Ukraine as a representative of Kiev to the papal throne (Presidential Decree No. 654/2021) is further evidence that the Vatican rather than the Constantinople Patriarchate is behind the Ukrainian autocephalous project. And that the creation of the “OCU” is only the first step.
The second will be an attempt to form a new union in Ukraine (through the organization of Dumenko and the UGCC), which should become an impetus for unification processes already at the global level – between the RCC and the group of Local Orthodox Churches led by Phanar.
