This was stated by the chairman of the department for external church relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, according to Vesti.
“Ukraine has become a bone of contention,” the hierarch stated.
The Russian Orthodox Church is praying for overcoming the Ukrainian schism, he concluded. The hierarch believes that it is necessary to do everything possible to prevent further escalation of tension.
