On December 1, 2021, the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations met with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal, the profile ministers and other officials. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Institute of Religious Freedom.
Religious leaders noted the inexpediency of ratifying the Istanbul Convention and suggested developing Ukrainian legislation in the field of combating domestic violence.
They also talked about resonant legislative initiatives, the prohibition of commercial surrogacy as a form of child trafficking, vaccination issues and heating churches at the new tariffs. Religious leaders spoke about their work in helping those in need and families in difficult circumstances.
As previously reported, the hierarch of the UOC noted that the adoption of the Istanbul Convention would exacerbate the division in society.
