On November 21, at the Athens Cathedral, a joint divine service was held by the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archbishop Jerome of Athens and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, reports the Orthodox times.
In his speech after the liturgy, Archbishop Jerome said to Bartholomew: “Despite difficult times, we welcome you today as the patriarch of the Orthodox nation.”
“Sometimes clouds hung over our heads, but they did not cause destructive precipitation, but only rain and euphoria, fruitful dialogue and coexistence on the most important issues of Orthodoxy, both in the Holy Synod of Crete and on the issue of Ukrainian autocephaly,” added Archbishop Jerome.
