In the Kharkiv region, the OCU community split between two “bishops”

In the Kharkiv region, the dioceses of the OCU continue to “struggle” for their parishes. As reported by Churcher, this time it is about the split in the village of Sokolovo.

“Here we have a letter about the Holy Dormition parish in Sokolovo, which actually split into two separate ones. The first part wants to go to the Kharkiv diocese, headed by Bishop Mitrofan, known to all of us. The second wants to stay in the current diocese – people are absolutely satisfied with Archbishop Afanasiy. In principle, the division of the parish happened more or less peacefully, but there is always a “but”. Those who transferred to the Kharkiv diocese retained a temple house, they also have got a priest. But those who wanted to stay are forced to perform services in a room that they have adapted for prayer.

This is a kind of dilemma. On the one hand, you can simply remove the Holy Dormition parish from registration, so that the two parts, which were created as a result of the division, re-register, or simply help quickly register a new parish for those who remain in the Kharkiv-Poltava diocese. What, really, to do with the temple? Build something new for those who did not want to move? The question, how can you understand, is very difficult,” the message says.

As previously reported, in the Kharkiv region, one “bishop” of the OCU seizes parishes from another.
