We express our support to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, – Primate of the Polish Church

Archbishop Georgy (Pankovsky) of Wroclaw and Szczecin, participating in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Unity of the Church: Theological, Canonical and Historical Dimensions” in Kiev, conveyed words of support to the participants from the Primate of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw and All Poland. This was reported by the Synodal Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

“The topic of the conference is very important and relevant, given the crisis that has arisen in world Orthodoxy. The fact of the emergence of the so-called OCU, instead of healing religious sentiments in Ukraine, only strengthened and complicated them. Therefore, we need to constantly remind that the main sign of the conciliarity of the Holy Orthodox Church is its unity, it lives by faithfulness to the dogmatic teaching of the Holy Church and there is no room for ecclesiological compromise in it.

Your Bliss! Following the canonical structure of the Holy Church, we express our support for you and the fullness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, “- noted in the address of Metropolitan Sava.

As previously reported, on November 11, 2021, the UOC will organize an International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic: “The Catholic Church: Theological, Canonical and Historical Dimensions.”

The scientific forum is dedicated to the theological and canonical comprehension of the principle of the conciliarity of the Church and the issue of primacy among the Local Orthodox Churches.

In addition to theologians and scholars from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the conference is attended by representatives of seven Local Orthodox Churches: Antioch, Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Polish, Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia and the Orthodox Church in America.
