The American woman – a believer of the UOC-KP – was awarded for her contribution to the development of the Volyn Theological Academy

On November 7, 2021, a divine service was held at St. Nicholas Stauropegic Cathedral in Philadelphia (United States of America) of the UOC-KP, which was led by the secretary of the vicariate of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” in the USA and Canada, Luka (Bohdan) Zgoba.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the UOC-KP.

On this day, the rector of the UOC-KP church presented some awards to the activists of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” in the United States:

– Alexey Kacharay was awarded a diploma from Filaret;

– the manager of the Sunday school of the parish, Judith Henney, was awarded the Order of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

– on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the sisterhood of St. Nicholas Stauropegial Patriarchal Cathedral in Philadelphia, the head of the sisterhood Barbara Latzios was awarded the Order of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara, and the vice-president of the parish and choir director of the Patriarchal English-speaking choir, Suzanne Guz, was equally awarded the Order of saint Olga.

Also Susan Guz, for her personal contribution to the development of the Volyn Orthodox Theological Academy (VOTA), was awarded a medal on the occasion of the 225th anniversary and 30th anniversary of the restoration of the VOTA.

As previously reported, on October 29 in Kyiv, the secretary of the vicariate of the UOC-KP in the United States, Bohdan Zgoba, took “monastic vows” with the name Luka and received a “ban on ministry” from the OCU.
