A priest was not allowed to see the murdered English Catholic parliamentarian before his death

The assassination of British MP David Amiss, a Catholic by faith, has raised an important issue, writes From the Bellchamber.

The attack took place at 12:05; police and doctors arrived within minutes. After the incident, the wounded man lived for over an hour; they did not dare to transport him to the hospital by helicopter due to his unstable condition. Nevertheless, the priest with the Holy Gifts was not allowed to see him.

The fact was at first hushed up; then an “exhaustive explanation” was given: the police cordon did not allow the priest to visit the dying man in order to “keep the crime scene completely intact.”

Seriously? Given that the delicately named “suspect” Ali Hardy Ali, a 25-year-old “African-British” of Somali origin, was detained right there in the church where he attacked? And why around the body of the wounded were allowed to be inherited by the doctors? <…>

Labor MP Mike Cain proposed for discussion in the House of Commons the “Amiss Amendment” to the law regulating the sphere of police activities, so that a priest would be allowed to a person upon death, wherever he was, ”writes the Telegram channel.

British MP David Amiss received several stab wounds. It happened in a Methodist church in Lee-on-Sea, which is located near London, during a meeting of the 69-year-old official with voters.
