On October 26, Kiev hosted an international conference “Catholic-Orthodox Documents and Their Reception in Ukraine” with the participation of representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the OCU and the UGCC. The video was published on the YouTube channel Zhyve.tv.
The ecumenical conference was attended by the head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk, the Exarch of Constantinople in Ukraine, Bishop Mikhail (Anishchenko), the representative of the OCU Georgy Kovalenko, the retired cleric of the Moscow diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Kirill Govorun, and a number of other representatives of the OCU and the UGCC.
The conference participants presented the Ukrainian translation of the documents of the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue.
During the conference, the head of the UGCC, Svyatoslav Shevchuk, said that “the goal of the ecumenical dialogue is not just to cooperate, but to restore communion.”
