The episode, however, shows that relations with the Romanian Orthodox Church are normal. This is important in the current circumstances.
During the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on September 23-24, 2021 (REGISTER No. 86), a report was heard by His Grace Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, on the appeal of His Grace Archbishop of Maykop and Adyghe Tikhon.
Archbishop of Maykop and Adyghe Tikhon asks to allow the transfer of the cleric of the Maykop diocese, priest Rostislav Evenko, to the clergy of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Germany and Central and Northern Europe. Metropolitan Seraphim of Germany and Central and Northern Europe supports this appeal and expressed his written readiness to accept the aforementioned cleric into the jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Church. By the decision of the Holy Synod on July 17-19, 2006, the transfer of the cleric to another canonical jurisdiction is carried out on the proposal of the ruling bishop, with the approval of the Holy Synod and on the basis of the Letter of leave of the Holy Patriarch (journal No. 53).
The participants decided to bless the transfer of the cleric of the Maykop diocese, priest Rostislav Evenko, to the jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Church and to send a Letter of leave to Metropolitan Seraphim of German and Central and Northern Europe.
