In the Vinnitsa diocese, a new altar of the church was consecrated, the believers of which, despite the provocations of the representatives of the “OCU”, remained faithful to the UOC

On September 22, 2021, Metropolitan Vinnitsa and Barsk Barsanuphius consecrated a new throne in the church of St. vmch. Demetrius Solunsky village of Maidan, Vinnitsa region, around which two years ago the representatives of the OCU staged provocations, but the believers of the UOC remained faithful to the canonical Church, the Information and Educational Department of the UOC reports.

After the consecration, Metropolitan Barsanuphius celebrated the Divine Liturgy. The bishop consecrated the new throne after a major overhaul of the church. After the service, a festive procession took place.

Two years ago, there were provocations in this village around the church in honor of the Great Martyr. Demetrius of Thessaloniki on the part of the “OCU” representatives, but the believers, together with the priest, remained faithful to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
