On September 9, 2021, the head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk met in Budapest with Zsolt Shemien, Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary. During the meeting, an agreement was reached that the Hungarian government will allocate land to Greek Catholics in Budapest for the construction of a church, school and kindergarten, the Information Department of the UGCC writes.
As previously reported, representatives of Ukrainian public organizations in Hungary appealed to the Hungarian government with a request to allocate land for the construction of a temple, school and kindergarten.
The Vice Prime Minister assured the Primate of the UGCC that the Hungarian government will soon allocate a land plot and help in the construction of a church, school and kindergarten.
