On August 23, 2021, during a meeting with members of the AUCCRO at the OCU academy, the head of the Church of Constantinople, Patriarch Bartholomew “made a brief excursion into the history of the ecumenical movement” and noted that “from the half of the twentieth century to this day there are many ecumenical and other ties that bring Christians closer , numerically testify to the mutual desire, primarily of the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, to restore unity in communion.”

The Patriarch in his speech noted “the importance of inter-Christian and inter-confessional dialogue in the modern world” and noted that for him “it is an honor and privilege to be among the members of the AUCCRO, which together symbolize the hope of Ukraine.”
