Zelensky’s PR move with the arrival of Bartholomew failed

If President Volodymyr Zelensky hoped to get the support of the “patriotic” electorate with the help of the arrival of Patriarch Bartholomew and flirting with the OCU, then his plans failed, writes Pravblog.

“This, in particular, is evidenced by the following scene in St. Sophia.

After the end of the “liturgy”, the head of the OCU thanked Petro Poroshenko for his active participation in the creation of the structure that received the tomos. Those present were greeted with loud applause.

What does this indicate?

First, that Poroshenko and his party continue to enjoy great authority among the OCU. It is to the former president that the supporters of the Dumenko organization attribute and will attribute all the successes of their religious organization.

Secondly, it becomes clear with whose help the crowd was going to today’s event with the participation of Patriarch Bartholomew.

Third, Zelenskiy will remain a stranger to the right-wing electorate. Even if he makes every effort to destroy the UOC, the “patriots” will still not appreciate this. For them, Zelensky will remain “an alien”,” writes the Telegram channel.

Earlier, a religious scholar and researcher at the Center for Eastern European Studies at the University of Bremen, Nikolai Mitrokhin, said that the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew to Kiev is a PR move of the Ukrainian president, who thinks how to please the center-right patriotic voter and prove that he is not an “agent of Moscow”, as this voter counts.
