On the eve of the celebration of the Day of Remembrance of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, on August 5, 2021, thousands of pilgrims from different parts of the western region of Ukraine came to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra in processions. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

It is noted that the annual prayer processions for the holiday in honor of the Pochaev Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos have already become a tradition for Orthodox believers.

This year Pochaev monks met pilgrims from the Vladimir-Volyn diocese, who were joined by pilgrims who arrived from Poland (about 1,500 people), from the Volyn diocese (about 700 believers), from Zdolbunov (about 500 believers), from Ivano-Frankovsk (about 200 people), from Nikolayevka, Dubensky region (about 200 people), as well as pilgrims from other places in western Ukraine.

On August 2, several thousand believers, headed by the governor of the Pochaev Lavra, Metropolitan Vladimir and the rector of the Pochaev Theological Seminary, Archbishop Job and the brethren of the monastery, walked in the procession of the cross, along which the Pochaev miraculous icon of the Mother of God was transferred more than 400 years ago.
