The head of the Church of Cyprus threatened to cut salaries for priests who urge not to get vaccinated

The Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostom, announced that he would cut the salaries of priests who urge believers not to get vaccinated or wear masks, writes the Orthodox times.

Archbishop Chrysostomus warned that salaries would be cut for priests, against whom he received complaints that they urge believers not to get vaccinated and go to church without masks.

He said that he gave instructions to find out the names of these priests, stressing that any priest who opposes the decisions of the Archdiocese, especially the Holy Synod, should be punished.

“I will be very strict,” he said.

Recall that the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostom, is already openly threatening those bishops who disagree with his opinion on the issue of recognizing the OCU.
