I do not even read criticism, but some lightly malicious and contemptuous comments on the theme of the monastic congress in Pochaev: allegedly they did not accept anything, they did not decide anything, they just came together to show themselves as at a “vanity fair.” Moreover, such voices are heard not only from Ukraine, but also from Russia. True, from ideologically close circles and lips.
But. Don’t jump to conclusions. Although the congress is over, not everything has been said yet.
At the congress, we worked on some documents, the drafts of which were prepared in advance, and some of the texts were already drawn up during the congress.
Even so it was. Ideas were born during communication and discussion, and texts were compiled from them. I admit, I was pleased to see this. This was one of the signs of the liveliness and informality of the congress, although it was short in time.
However, the monastics decided to submit these texts for approval to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius, after which some of them should be published. So the monastics will have their say in the near future.
I don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but I am writing this to explain why there were no final documents right away, as is usually the case at conferences.
