Metropolitan Hilarion meets with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America

On July 11, 2021, in New York, the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, met with His Beatitude Archbishop Tikhon of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada. The meeting took place after the Divine Liturgy in the Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral, during which the DECR chairman co-served with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, the DECR website writes.

During the conversation, a wide range of issues related to the development of interaction between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in America, as well as topical issues in the field of inter-Orthodox relations were touched upon. The parties exchanged information on how the Church met the challenge of the coronavirus pandemic in Russia and in other countries of the canonical space of the Moscow Patriarchate, as well as in America and Canada.
