A Catholic hierarch attends the assemble of the Phanar vicariate in France

The Bishop of the Diocese of Nanterre of the Roman Catholic Church (Metropolis of Paris) Matthieu Rougé attended the annual general meeting of the vicariate of Orthodox parishes of the Russian tradition (Church of Constantinople), held on July 3, 2021. According to the website of the vicariate, 59 people took part in the event.

As noted in the publication, this meeting was the last, which was chaired by Metropolitan Emmanuel (Adamakis), who was recently transferred to the Chalcedonian cathedra.

“The short visit of Monsignor Matthieu Rougé, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nanterre, became an occasion for Metropolitan Emmanuel to present him with the cross as a sign of dialogue and fraternal friendship between our two Churches,” the website of the vicariate informed.

It is also noted that at the end of the summer a meeting of the clergy of the vicariate will take place, where plans for future events will be discussed. According to the data for the year, the vicariate concluded that, in addition to new ordinations and conferences of the clergy, two new communities were registered.
