Not a single court considered the claim of the UOC-KP in fact, – Filaret’s supporters

For more than two years, supporters of the liquidated Kyiv Patriarchate have been suffering from violations of Article 35 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which guarantees everyone the right to freedom of worldview and religion, proclaims the separation of the Church and religious organizations from the state. This is said in a statement published on the website of the UOC-KP.

The text notes that “the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate suffers as a result of a raider attack by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, carried out with the direct support of the authorities.” The UOC-KP “was unlawfully deprived of state registration, which in its turn negates our right to a full-fledged religious life and actually reduces to the status of a persecuted Church, whose members are discriminated against.”

“Until now, not a single Ukrainian court has considered our case on the illegal liquidation of the UOC-KP in fact, which is a violation of Article 55 on the free access of everyone to legal proceedings and the protection of violated rights and freedoms by the court. The state power, since the formation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, openly gives it greater preference among other confessions,” the Kyiv Patriarchate says. Moreover, this already violates Article 24 of the Basic Law, the authors of the statement note.
