On June 17, 2021, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary met with Metropolitan Elijah of Beirut at his residence in Ashrafia. The website of the DECR ROC writes about this.
The Administrative Officer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church handed over to Metropolitan Elijah the last part of the donations collected by the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for the restoration of the churches of the Beirut Metropolitanate that suffered from the explosion in the seaport of the Lebanese capital on August 4, 2020. As hierarch noted, although Ukraine is now experiencing an economic crisis and this has had a heavy impact on the financial situation of many people, the believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took the tragedy that took place in Beirut very personally and responded to the call of the Synod of the UOC to collect donations.
Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary also spoke about the current situation of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Vladyka Elijah warmly greeted the guests and expressed deep gratitude for the assistance of the affected Metropolitanate of Beirut.
