The Holy Protection community of the UOC in the village of Serkhov, Manevitsky district, Volyn region, which lost a church due to raider actions of the OCU, asks for help in building a new one. This was reported by the Favor Charitable Foundation.

The UOC community became one of the objects of church raiding in early 2019, when the meeting of the territorial community of the village decided to transfer the church to the OCU, and the local authorities subsequently legalized the “transition”. It took Abbot Vasily Popovich and the parishioners almost two years to get the village council to allocate land and issue permits for the construction of a new church in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Joy of All Who Sorrow”.

“Finally, everything is ready, and with God’s help, construction has begun – the foundation has been poured on its own, preparatory work is underway for the construction of the walls,” the foundation says.

The parish has no funds for further work, so Favor opened a national collection in the amount of 178,200 hryvnias, which are needed to buy bricks for laying the walls of the church.
