The exarchate of the UGCC in Italy announced the transition to the Gregorian calendar. This is stated in the decree of Exarch Dionisy Lyakhovich, reports the RT.
As the document says, the transition of all Ukrainian communities of the Apostolic Exarchate in Italy to the Gregorian calendar was proclaimed “taking care of the spiritual development of the Apostolic Exarchate in the conditions of the Italian environment, time and mission of our Church, in caring for my faithful attorneys, understanding the needs of all believers and taking care of the opportunity for everyone to fully live the liturgical, and above all the Eucharistic life, taking into account the proposals of the Working Group on the preparation of the calendar reform.”
The transition will begin on September 1, 2021, from the beginning of the Indict, that is, the New Liturgical Year.
