On May 27, 2021, with the blessing of the rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, Bishop Sylvester of Bilogorodka, the vicar of the Cluj Metropolis of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Bishop Benedict Bystritsky celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Academic Church in honor of the Nativity of the Mother of God. This was reported by the press service of the KTAS.
The Romanian bishop was co-served by the teacher of the Academy, Hieromonk Panteleimon (Melnik), rector of the Moldovan-Romanian parish at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Archpriest Dimitri Polescu, clergy of the Romanian Church, pupils of the Kyiv theological schools in the priesthood.
The service was held in Church Slavonic and Romanian. Liturgical chants were sung by the academic choir under the direction of the choir director, Archimandrite Leonty (Tupkalo). After the liturgy, Bishop Benedict signed the altar Gospel of the church in memory of his stay in Kyiv theological schools and service in the Academic Church.
