Kuraev told how he was asked to “formalize relations with Constantinople”

The ROC cleric Andrei Kuraev, banned from ministry, wrote on his blog that he continues to ponder the transition to the Phanar jurisdiction. This, in his opinion, should “lay siege to the episcopate” in the Russian Orthodox Church, he was also asked about this by a “priest from the near abroad,” reports credo.press.

“Today I met a priest from a near-foreign state. He asked me to quickly formalize my relations with Constantinople, so that others would follow this path, and in the end it would be easier for all clerics,” writes Kuraev.

The Protodeacon took part in the XXIX International Educational Readings taking place in Moscow on May 17-20. In the opinion of a former professor at the Moscow State University and Moscow State University, “the opportunity to leave one boss to another can really upset the rulers of the beast-like.”

He believes that “European democracy has its most important source precisely in the competition between bishops and dukes: the young knight had the right to choose whom to sell his sword to (because the cardinals also need their own guards). And he had the right to change his overlord. In Moscow, this option was closed very early, that is why until the 18th century there was no difference between nobles and servants”.
