Church division in Ukraine is a artificially provoked conflict, – Patriarch Kirill

Despite the artificially created split in Ukraine, the church people are sensitively aware of the destructive temptations and do not accept them. This was stated by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia during a meeting with the episcopate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, which took place in Moscow, according to the press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

“We know how the enemy of the mankind sowed the seeds of division, including in the body of our Church, to what dire consequences all this led. It is enough to look at the situation in Ukraine: to create artificially such splits, divisions, mediastinum, to push people who often live on the territory of the same parish!.. – said the head of the Russian Orthodox Church. – I receive a weekly summary of those offenses, of the suffering that people are experiencing because of these divisions. You know, probably no worse than me – It comes to violence, to beatings, to the fight for churches.”

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill emphasized that the church division in Ukraine is an intentionally and artificially provoked conflict.

However, according to His Holiness, the church people are sensitively aware of destructive temptations and do not accept them. “Our canonical Church does not diminish in any way, does not become weaker – new parishes and monasteries are opening, the number of episcopates is increasing. Nevertheless, of course, the division brings real suffering to people,” said the Primate of the Russian Church.
