The UOC throughout Ukraine, from Donbass to Transcarpathia, “is trying to seize temples from the OCU communities”, “as Russia did in Crimea and Donbass through referendums.” The speaker of the OCU Yevstratiy Zorya wrote about this on Facebook.

Zorya says that it is not the activists of the OCU, created two years ago, who seize the churches of the UOC, but on the contrary – the UOC “seizes” the churches of the OCU.

“The Moscow Patriarchate throughout Ukraine, from Donbass to Transcarpathia, is trying to seize churches from the OCU communities. At the same time, in the style of the Kremlin’s hybrid war, he accuses the OCU of “seizing” the OCU,” writes Zorya.

According to him, in cases of voting, the UOC almost always considers its supporters as a “community” – even if there are only a few of them.

“Consequently, the classic raider scheme of seizing churches with the expulsion of the community and its replacement with a new, loyal MP is included. The same thing that Russia did in Crimea through the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC and in Donbass through “referendums”.

“Of course, the resources and supporters of the MP will continue to write about the“ capture ”, making themselves victims, not an aggressor and raider. Like Russia and its puppets, they call Ukraine an aggressor when it defends its territory and sovereignty,” writes Zorya.
