Ex-Metropolitan of the UOC Alexander Drabinko in the program “Red Line with Sergei Vysotsky” told the audience why there is no mass “flight” of priests of the canonical Church to the OCU, reports the RP.
The ex-metropolitan considered “a lot of factors, including financial and administrative ones, which do not allow believers to express their will of denomination directly and freely”.
“There are a lot of lawsuits against those communities that have joined the OCU. There is a financial factor that prompts lawyers to actually pour from empty to empty, but thereby not allow either the bishop or the community to pray where they would like. The factor of priests must also be taken into account,” the ex-metropolitan said, saying that those who did not agree to a “transition” to the raiders actually “receive “subsidies” from Kyiv so that they do not join the OCU.”
In addition, Drabinko said, believers who “suffer from propaganda about schismatics” do not want to go to the OCU either.
