Easter is not just a holiday. You need to go along with the Hist, taking up your cross. Those persecuted communities, of which there are quite a few, due to the prevailing political circumstances, really and effectively manifest the implementation of Christ’s commandment, said the chairman of the information and educational department of the UOC, Metropolitan Nezhinsky and Priluki Kliment (Vecherya).
“The Easter holiday is a special day. Because every person who confesses Christ is called not only to call himself a believer. And expect that Christ will multiply his bread, heal, resurrect him – but you also need to walk with Christ, taking up your cross,” said the hierarch.
He stressed that the persecuted communities of the UOC “bear the cross of suffering and reproach, undeserved reproach. But the Gospel does not end with Golgotha - it ends with the Resurrection.”
The Orthodox hierarch recalled that blessed are the persecuted, who do not betray their faith and the Church. And after all the victories, the last victory will be for Jesus Christ.
