On the eve of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, archbishop Abel of Lublin and Kholm (Polish Orthodox Church) sent Easter greetings to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian people.

“Christ is Risen!

On this famous, joyful Easter day, I sincerely congratulate His Beatitude Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, lord Metropolitan Onuphry, the episcopate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and all believers!

Let the joy of the risen Christ the Savior be in our hearts. This year 2021 we are experiencing many personal problems, problems that provoke our Church. But remember that this is our suffering. As he sings the resurrected Christ the Savior “Through Christ, joy came to the whole world, always blessing the Lord!”

We must place our hope in Christ the Savior, Risen from the dead. The Lord will give, and He will triumph both in our hearts and in the bosom of our Holy Church of Christ.

I congratulate you all, and first of all those immigrants from their native Kholm region who live in large numbers on Ukrainian land today and are members of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

I prayerfully wish you Easter joy for every day from my native Kholm land.
