The Ministry of Health shares plans to organize quarantine for Easter

The Ministry of Health does not yet plan to introduce a nationwide lockdown in Ukraine for the May holidays, but people from risk groups are urged not to visit churches on Easter. This was told by the country’s chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko, reports News One.

“Now it (a nationwide lockdown – ed.) Is not planned. On Monday, April 19, there was a meeting with the President, where the Prime Minister said that this week there will be a general meeting with the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches. Algorithms already developed by the Ministry of Health will be additionally worked out there. so that in churches everything happens in accordance with anti-epidemic norms: how to ensure the celebration correctly, how to organize the number of festive liturgies in order to reduce the number of people who come to churches at the same time,” Lyashko said.

He specified that the Ministry of Health recommends that elderly people and citizens with chronic diseases refrain from visiting the temple. Also, the sanitary doctor advises, if possible, to send someone from the family to the church to baptize Easter cakes, so that he can then bring them home and pass them on to his family.
