The MP of the ruling party promotes the law on Chaplaincy blessed by the head of his “native” OCU

The deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, Svyatoslav Yurash, on his Facebook page spoke about the preparation of a bill on chaplaincy in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as discussing the document with representatives of the OCU and receiving a blessing from the head of this structure, the Information and Educational Department of the UOC reports.

The people’s choice said that at the request of the AUCCRO he turned to the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Oleksandr Zavitnevich to start the process of creating a law “On the Military Chaplaincy Service” (No. 4626).

“Together we presented, and more than once, this bill before the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches (AUCCRO), which is now headed by His Beatitude Svyatoslav and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, who have taken a confident position in the creation and defense of this law. This was confirmed by a visit to the native Orthodox Church of Ukraine, where His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius blessed and put us to work in the creation of the Ukrainian Spiritual Institute,” wrote Yurash.

Religious experts draw attention to the fact that the registered draft Law “On the Service of the Military Priesthood” No. 4626 is discriminatory against military personnel – believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They are planning to deprive them of spiritual nourishment from the clergy of their Church.
