In Volyn, the UOC community erected crosses on a church built to replace the captured OCU

On March 27, 2021, in the village of Brypty Kamen-Kashirsky district of the Volyn region, the domed crosses of the temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear” were consecrated and installed, which the local community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is building instead of the captured OCU, writes UOJ.

Believers have been waiting for this event for more than two years: at the beginning of 2019, their parish became one of the few victims of the raider actions of the OCU in Volyn Polesie.

In those days, in the Kamen-Kashirsky region, the newly formed church structure managed to take at its disposal churches in the villages of Rakov Les, Nuino and Bristle (Krymno). At the same time, in all three villages, despite the departure of two rectors into schism, the UOC community has survived: in the village of Rakov Les, the temple has already been rebuilt and consecrated in just seven months of work.

The community of the Orthodox Church, uniting the villages of Brypte and Krymno, also began to build the temple only in November 2020. All this time, believers gathered in a rural house equipped for worship, and since last summer, in a temporary church, built in less than a month.

The parishioners began to erect the church after the consecration of the foundation by Bishop Kamen-Kashirsky Athanasius. Despite the cold winter season and difficult weather conditions, people continued to work to crown their efforts with their first success in the spring.
