Ex-metropolitan of the UOC, now a hierarch of the OCU with the only parish within his “diocese” Alexander Drabinko expressed his pleasure with the recent interview with archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church Cyril (Hovorun). Hovorun, in particular, spoke about the “lost chance” for the hierarchs of the UOC who did not agree participate in the Phanar`s project in Ukraine. Drabinko wrote about this on his Facebook.
“Thanks to father Cyril for the excellent quintessence of my own thoughts and observations. I subscribe to every word. And I will add – the further, the newcomers for the “reception” will be less attractive,” writes Drabinko.
Also, the hierarch of the OCU, to which not a single parish has passed, predicts the inevitable “episcopal losses” at the UOC, from which parishioners and parishes are about to start “fleeing”.
“In connection with the access to information and the growth of religious education, parishioners are opening their eyes and growing canonical consciousness. They will vote with their feet. I often communicate with young people who study in Kyiv universities – they do not understand at all what the “Russian world” is and after “what fright” (canonical) Ukraine should be subordinate to the Moscow Patriarch and the Russian Church!?”, the ex-metropolitan worries.
