Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, secretary for inter-Orthodox relations of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, said that only two bishops of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus currently recognized the OCU, “Novosti” reported.
Archbishop Chrysostom, who commemorates the leader of the OCU, Dumenko, at divine services, and Metropolitan Basil of Constantine, who allowed concelebration with schismatics, de facto recognized the OCU.
As the archpriest said, “for Russian pilgrims, church communication with them is impossible. As for communication with other hierarchs of Cyprus, as well as for visiting temples and monasteries under their jurisdiction, there are no restrictions for our pilgrims at the moment.”
