On March 23, 2021, a series of three-day celebrations organized by the Church of Greece began in honor of the rebels who fell in the struggle for freedom during the Greek Revolution of 1821.
All churches of the Church of Greece, religious events and services in all metropolitan cathedrals will be decorated with flags. During the service, a special prayer will be read, written for the 200th anniversary of the liberation, which was written by Metropolitan Joel of Edessa, Pella, and Almopia. In all churches, a circular of the Holy Synod of the Greek Church will be read for the solemn date.
According to the new government decision, as an exception, believers are allowed to participate in the service of the Annunciation in all cathedrals of the country with one person per 25 m2, the maximum number of those present cannot exceed 20 people.
