Ex-deputy demands to “prohibit and eliminate” the UOC

Former people’s deputy Dmytro Yarosh demands from the NSDC to ban and liquidate the UOC as a “reliable stronghold of pro-Russian forces”, which turned churches and monasteries into “nurseries of anti-Ukrainian propaganda and bases and headquarters of Russian militants,” reports Religious Pravda.

“Firstly, this structure was created by the Communist Party, banned in Ukraine, headed by the executioner Stalin (there are enough archival documents). Secondly, all the years of Ukraine’s independence, this child of the NKVD, hiding behind religious slogans, has been conducting purposeful anti-state activities (there are many facts, including those documented by the SBU). Thirdly, with the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the ROC in Ukraine became a reliable stronghold of pro-Russian forces, turning religious buildings (churches and monasteries) into nurseries of anti-Ukrainian propaganda and bases and headquarters of Russian militants, “says Yarosh, without citing any “set of facts.”

Also, according to the ex-deputy, the UOC and the opposition are “coordinated from a single Kremlin center and aimed at eliminating the state of Ukraine,” therefore they must be “liquidated, prohibited”, and the property “returned to the Ukrainian people”.
