On February 28, 2021, the stauropegic parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Philadelphia (the USA) for the first time celebrated the gaining of the cathedral status and the opportunity to be called the center and head office of the vicariate of the UOC-KP in the USA and Canada. This was reported on “the UOC Kyiv Patriarchate” page in Facebook.

Secretary of the vicariate Bohdan Zgoba congratulated the community on an important achievement, which, according to him, belongs to all parishioners.

At the end of the service, the cathedral community held a celebration to make memorable the high status of the temple.

As reported, the UOC-KP prevented an attempt by representatives of the OCU to liquidate Filaret’s structure in the United States.
