The UOC told why the supporters of the OCU seize churches

The OCU was given a condition that they had the necessary number of parishes to receive “recognition” from the Local Churches, but they do not have this number, according to this structure, and this is one of the reasons why they seize the temples of the UOC. He said this on the air of the International Media Project “People” on the TV channel “112” by the head of the Legal Department of the UOC, Archpriest Alexander Bakhov.

“They do not have the necessary number of parishes to receive what they believe to be universally recognized in other churches. This is one of the first conditions that, as far as I know, was set by him. That is, the number of parishes on paper.

On the other hand, they want to get the material resource that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has. Indeed, today the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has about 13,000 religious communities, and the newly formed OCU has about 7,000 religious communities, ”the clergyman said.

He draws attention to a very small number of churches built during this time by the OCU. “At the same time, over the past year, in those churches that have already been captured, 34 churches have already been built instead of those that were captured,” he added.

According to him, it is not always possible to defend one’s right to the temple by legal and legal means, since it is very difficult to repel political attacks by legal means and to defend one’s rights from various political attacks.

However, the problem still lies in the property plane, said the head of the legal department.
