They are afraid: The UOC told about the reasons for the media campaign against the congress of the communities of the seized churches

The negative media campaign testifies to one important thing: they are afraid of the UOC. Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, deputy head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

The speaker of the UOC explained: “Yesterday in our Lavra there was a Congress of representatives of the parishes of the seized churches of the UOC. Real people arrived, citizens of Ukraine, in whom the churches were seized. These are not “titushki”, not “Muscovites”, not “offended”, as they have already been called by “Glavkom” (site). These are not the people who were “supposedly expelled”, as RISU cynically writes about them in quotes (a site controlled by Greek Catholics), but these are the people who were actually expelled from their churches. These are real people. And in fact, there are many such people all over Ukraine. After all, only a few representatives from the parish arrived.

Let me tell you a secret: many more parishes wanted to go, but there were certain restrictions.

Why did some media write so negatively about the Congress? Because these are real affected people. And here opponents have nothing to cover. Unless only to write slander, what these media are doing.

But this negative media campaign shows one important thing: they are afraid of us. They are afraid of the activity of the UOC. They are afraid of demonstrating the facts of oppression of believers of the UOC, because it destroys their info-picture and their false ideology about voluntary transitions to the “OCU”. They are afraid of the number of people in the UOC.

That is why they write such slander and other informational rubbish.

People at the Congress spoke out. People heard and saw each other, they realized that they are not alone, that there are many of our people. People felt that they were not alone, that someone needed them, that they knew and thought about them, and they were helped. People got a boost of inspiration. And this is probably the most important thing.”
