I have read on the OCU website that on 21.02 they will have an online meeting of Orthodox youth, in which, among others, will be present the dean of the theological faculty of the University of Humanities named after Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani (Tbilisi, Georgia) Gocha Barnavi.
I decided to find out who it is. So, my sources in the Georgian Church said that Gocha Barnavi was a teacher of dogma at the Theological Academy in Tbilisi, but he was fired 2 years ago. The reason was his radical disagreement with the position of the Synod of the GOC, which does not recognize the tomos for Ukrainian schismatics; inappropriate statements about colleagues – teachers on the same topic. In other words, he radically advocated the tomos.
By the way, according to my sources, the University named after Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani was founded by the Catholic Church in Georgia. There they sheltered a dissident teacher.
Thus, the OCU surrounds itself by dissidents from different Local Churches. This is not surprising, because like attracts like. The OCU itself consists of those that arose and are conducting their activities in protest against the Church and in opposition to the Church. Such are their own “Orthodox protestants”, or dissidents.
