The head of the OCU called on France to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation

On February 9, 2021, the head of the OCU Epiphanius met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Etienne de Ponsen, the OCU website reports.

Epiphanius informed the ambassador of the recognition of the OCU by other local Orthodox Churches.

As reported, the head of the OCU “stressed the need to continue and strengthen sanctions against the aggressor country.”

Also during the conversation, an exchange of views took place on a number of topical issues.

Epiphanius said that “thanks to the help of such friends, we will eventually reach full-fledged membership in the European community.”
