A fire in the UOC church in Donbass, a man died

On the night of February 6, a fire broke out in one of the basements of the St. John the Theological Church in Shakhtyorsk, Donetsk region. One person died, according to the website of the Horlivka Diocese of the UOC.

About half past one in the night, the watchman saw smoke pouring from the basement of the temple’s utility room. He woke the abbot and called the rescuers. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire. The consequences of the fire and its extinguishing have already been eliminated, the diocese says.

The corpse of a man born in 1973, a homeless man named Roman, who was sheltered by the parish, was found in the room on fire. He worked as a handyman at the temple.
