The Russian Orthodox Church called the involvement of adolescents in protest actions inadmissible

The involvement of youth in political strikes is unacceptable, and those who are involved thereto should be held accountable, said Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev), chairman of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

“Children and adolescents are deliberately involved not in politics, but in political confrontation, in dangerous actions <…> I think that the involvement of children and adolescents in political actions is a completely unacceptable violation of civil law and order, and I think that the perpetrators should be held accountable”, – he said in the program “Church and Peace” on the channel “Russia-24” on Saturday.

The Metropolitan noted that many social problems, the fight against which should be common, and the high level of corruption of certain state and official structures is not a reason to urge teenagers to the streets.
