After the release of the last interview of the former metropolitan of Vinnytsia Simeon, where he speaks negatively about the Church he had betrayed, the Information Department of the Vinnitsa diocese of the UOC talked with priest Volodymyr Tyutenko about the newly created OCU structure and its followers in the Vinnytsia region.
“I think metropolitan Simeon has realized how full of church life he lost. I think the poverty that he now has awakens his conscience, which says that he is wrong. But the last interview shows that he is rather trying to look for rational arguments for himself, so as not to live with pangs of conscience”, said the Vinnytsia priest of the UOC.
He believes that the current public rhetoric of those clergy who have gone to the “OCU” is an attempt to stifle the pangs of their conscience.
“Every day I bow down for Simeon and those people who have betrayed their Church, asking God for them to repent,” the priest said.
