On March 3, 2020, in the city of Odessa, a woman from the parish of the Nativity of Christ of the UOC-KP suffered moderate bodily harm in the church. As the lawyer of the Kyiv Patriarchate Neonila Tkachenko reported on Facebook, the “so-called priest” of the OCU Yaroslav Bugrinets and one of the laity committed the attack on the woman.
Neonila Tkachenko recalls, “Previously, this person (Yaroslav Bugrinets) sprayed tear gas in order to seize the property of the parish. Remained unpunished.”
“After the examination of the victim by doctors, it remains only to apply preventive measures and hand over the suspicion. We hope that the rule on the concealment of crimes against the Kyiv Patriarchate will be sent into oblivion,” Neonila Tkachenko appeals to law enforcement officers.
In the summer of 2019, during the clashes between the UOC-KP and the OCU communities in Odessa, tear gas was used against Filaret’s supporters.
