On March 1, 2020, Metropolitan Jean (Rennetau) of Dubna, head of the Archdiocese of Orthodox Churches of the Russian tradition in Western Europe, ordained in the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky hieromonk Hierotheos, who had once been ordained in the OCU.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Western European Archdiocese.
“His Eminence Metropolitan Jean of Dubna presided over the Divine Liturgy, during which he re-ordained hieromonk Hierotheos, who had transferred from the non-canonical “Kharkiv Diocese of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, the message says.
Hieromonk Hierotheos became the second “cleric” of the OCU, who left non-canonical jurisdiction and was ordained by Metropolitan Jean.
The Archdiocese of the Orthodox parishes of the Russian tradition in Western Europe passed to the ROC after the Phanar’s attempt to liquidate this exarchate in order to strengthen its European metropolises.
