In the village of Uhryniv, Gorokhiv district, Volyn region, 5 years after the seizure of the UOC temple by the Kyiv Patriarchate, a piece of land was consecrated for the construction of a new church. This was reported on the page of the Charitable Foundation “Favor”.

Now the fund is asking for help to collect the missing amount for the Holy Cross Exaltation community of the UOC in the village of Uhryniv. Representatives of the UOC-KP captured the church and all the church property back in 2014.

“A few days ago, the site for the construction of a temple in the village of Uhryniv was consecrated by the rector, father Rostyslav,” the message says. “It was a great celebration for the community – a very recently abandoned, overgrown area with a collapsed house has now become perfectly clean and level, ready for the foundation of a new house church in honor of the Unexpected Joy icon of the Most Holy Theotokos!”

The small but strong-minded community of Uhryniv itself prepared the site for consecration and construction.

“We can still have time this year, before winter, to fill the foundation! To do this, we need to push our efforts a little and collect the missing money! Then from spring we will be able to erect walls and cover the roof”, informs the Foundation.
